Opal Gertrude Mc Cool, 102, passed away on May 13, 2018 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville. Opal was born Opal Gertrude Gemlich on December 14, 1915. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McCool; her brother, Chris Gemlich and her parents, William and Nellie Gemlich. She married Howard on October 20, 1934 and they were married almost 57 years. She is survived by her sons, William (Bev) McCool of Monticello, IN and Donald (Sara) McCool of Chandler, IN; grandchildren, Tom (Shawnna) McCool of Newburgh, IN, Gary (Kristi) McCool of Chandler, IN, William McCool of Boonville, IN and Laura Embry of Chandler, IN; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Bailey Embry, Cody, Chase, Brittany, Jordan and Joshua McCool; sister-in-law, Eloise Gemlich Klingensmith; first cousin, Marlene Zieg; nieces, Karen (Randy) Lampton and Jan (John) Greer; nephew, Charles Dike; and special friend who was like a daughter to her, Carol McCool of Boonville, IN.

Opal worked for the X-Market Grocery in Boonville for 25 years and retired in May of 1981. She also worked for Buehler's Grocery Store as a demo lady and in the activity department at Woodmont Health Campus. She was very active in the Eastern Star and Rebekahs and attended Main Street United Methodist Church.

Thanks to the employees at Woodmont Health Campus and St. Vincent Hospital for caring grandma Opal. Memorials can be made to the Boonville Main Street United Methodist Church.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Bradley's Colonial Chapel, 1005 E. Main St. Boonville, IN. Visitation from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 hr. before service time. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.bradleyscc.com
