Helen Marie Corn, 89, of Lynnville passed away at Good Samaritan Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper on November 26, 2017.
She was born October 28, 1928 in Lynnville to the late Alvin & Meta Schmidt. Helen Marie graduated in 1946 and married the love of her life James Leo Corn in 1947. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Church in Lynnville where she devoted years of service to the Women's Guild. She loved gardening, cooking and taking care of those she loved. She adored her two grandsons and four great-grandchildren, the greatest joys of her life. She was best known for her meatloaf and her love of homemade ice-cream.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Lana Kay (Leon) Oxley & Shannon Faye (Larry) Grimes; sister, Joan (Harold) Haley; grandchildren, Lonnie (Cindy) Oxley & Greg (Brianne) Grimes; great-grandchildren, Mariah & Adam Oxley, Ethan & Haley Grimes; sister-in-law, Carol (Gary) Graf; brother-in-law, Don (Toyzanne) Corn; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, James Leo Corn; brothers, Herbert Kennedy, Charles "Bud" Schmidt & grandchild, Len Allen Oxley.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Matthew Church of Lynnville, 3044 Somerville Rd. Lynnville, IN. 47619. Visitation 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St. Lynnville, IN. and 1 hr. before service time at church. Interment Lynnville Cemetery.
