Mrs Francile Roth

  • DIED: January 22, 2018
  • LOCATION: Boonville, Indiana

Francile (Koutz) Roth, age 70, died on January 22, 2018 at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville after a 37-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis that conquered her body but not her spirit. Even prior to her last hospitalization in January of this year, she would often tease her husband, Michael and Woodmont staff members.
She was born January 30, 1947 in Vanderburgh Co. Ind., to George Koutz and Marjorie D. (Miller) Koutz.
Francile graduated from Boonville High School in 1965. She then attended Deaconess School of Nursing in Evansville, Ind., graduating in 1968, and soon was employed as a Registered Nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She and her husband, Michael A., married at St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville, Ind., on March 5, 1970. At that time, Mike was on leave from the U.S. Naval Aviation Patrol Squadron VP-16 based at NAS Jacksonville, Fla.
The couple would later live in several Indiana communities. At each location, Francile would use her nursing skills and caring, compassionate nature to heal and comfort patients in community hospitals. In Princeton, Ind., she was Director of Nursing at a Nursing Home.
She was a devoted and loving Mother to the couple's two children, Jason and Andrea. Francile enjoyed camping out, assisting with a Boonville Cub Scout Pack, helping with Vacation Bible School and playing in a church softball league prior to her illness.
Survivors include her husband, Michael and children: son Jason and wife, Patricia and children, Meagan and Patrick of Manitowoc, Wis; daughter, Andrea Winegar and husband Chris, and children Jordan, Brianna and Payton along with Jordan's son and Francile's great-grandson, Brantley of Rockport, Ind.; sister, Mary Alice Okes and husband Jeff of Boonville, Ind; brother, James Edward Koutz and wife Victoria Lynn of Boonville, Ind.; several nieces, nephews and sister-in-law, Carol Sue Venson.
Francile was preceded in death by her parents, George Wallace and Marjorie Dell (Miller) Koutz and a brother, George Wallace Koutz, Jr. The family wishes to thank the caregivers first at Transcendent Health Care South and later at Woodmont Health Campus, who went the "extra mile" to make Francile's stay as comfortable as possible.
